Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
At Selworthy School, we are committed to ensuring that all learners can use digital technology and online resources in a safe, positive, and appropriate way. Through a whole-school approach to online safety, we support learners to access ICT, devices, and the internet at a level that meets their individual needs and abilities.
We believe technology can enrich learning, communication, leisure and independence. Our aim is to help learners gain the skills and understanding needed to use technology safely, make informed choices online and enjoy the many opportunities the digital world provides.
By developing age-appropriate and personalised online safety skills, we hope to empower learners to use technology with confidence, supporting their wellbeing, independence, and future participation in everyday life.
Online Safety
At Selworthy School, online safety is an important part of our curriculum and daily practice. We help learners develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to use technology safely, responsibly and positively both in school and at home. Our online safety education is tailored to learners' individual needs and supports them to recognise risks, make safe choices and seek help when needed.
Online safety is an important element of our PSHE curriculum for all pupils at Selworthy School and this is taught across the curriculum in addition to discreet lessons. We also cover a wide range of topics through the curriculum.
