Welcome to Grove 2 Class!

Grove 2 is a friendly and supportive Sixth Form class for learners in Year 12 and 13. We help our students learn important skills for life and their futures, while also having fun and building confidence.

We currently have 8 learners, each following their own learning pathway within the 6th form curriculum. We have two vocational sessions weekly focusing on Basic Cooking and Land-Based (gardening). We also focus on helping everyone become more independent and improve their communication and social skills.

As part of our life skills learning, we run a weekly Enterprise Crafts project. Learners work together to make crafts that we hope to sell. This helps them practise planning, teamwork, and creativity as well as gaining confidence with their role within a team.

We plan to visit places in the local community. These trips help learners get used to being out and about, using money, and making choices.

We also enjoy snack sessions in our independent living flat. Learners prepare their own snacks using different kitchen tools, which helps them learn practical skills in a fun way.

Each day, we watch Newsround and share our thoughts about what’s happening in the world. This helps learners understand current events and share their thoughts.

Grove 2 is a safe and inclusive space where every learner is supported to grow, learn, and get ready for life after school.
