Welcome to Bossington Class!
A warm welcome to Bossington class. We are a team of 7 learners from years 7 and 8. We are a lively bunch and would give you a cheerful greeting if you visited. We communicate in different ways: verbally, signing and using assisted or augmented technology. We have different sensory needs and we work hard to be inclusive so that everyone can learn, feel safe and thrive. Learning about our feelings and which Zone of Regulation we are in is helps us to recognise what we are feeling, name it and use strategies to either help us speed us up or slow us down.
Listening and attention skills are at the heart of all our learning. We use teaching strategies like Attention Autism Bucket alongside more traditional teaching. The adults in our team help us to be independent, to communicate effectively and to make our best efforts in all we do.
Our timetable is here. Sometimes, Nicki, our teacher, will decide to change when each lesson happens. This might depend on our regulation levels and how challenging the lesson will be. However, our mornings are very consistent.
Making and sustaining friendships is important to us. We have our ups and downs, but we are supported to talk things through and find resolutions together.
Our adult team are incredibly proud of all our hard work and what kind, helpful young people we are.
