We are committed to supporting all staff in delivering high-quality futures (careers) education across the curriculum. The following resources provide guidance, best practice, and local opportunities to support futures (careers) provision, particularly for students with SEND:

• Somerset Council’s SEND Careers Information – Guidance on careers education for learners with SEND, including statutory responsibilities for schools and colleges.

• Somerset’s Career Hub – A curated resource hub showcasing effective approaches to careers education.

• Current Careers Opportunities – Useful links and updates to support staff in sharing relevant opportunities with students.

• Careers Education – Best Practice Padlet – Additional practical ideas and resources to embed careers into teaching and learning.

In addition, the Futures Lead, Lara Bowden, delivers staff CPD sessions on INSET days throughout the school year. These sessions focus on embedding Futures (careers) into the curriculum and supporting positive learner destinations. Staff are encouraged to contact her directly for copies of presentation materials and further guidance.
