Welcome to Mint Class!

Mint Class is an exciting primary class based at Oakhill Campus. We are a fantastic group of 8 learners, each following a personalised curriculum, to support our learning journey. We all take part in academic learning, and approach this in different ways. We enjoy learning through exploration, questioning, and sharing ideas.

Throughout the week, we have our Communication, Language and Literacy (CLL), maths, science, art and creativity, technology, PSHE, RE and PE lessons. On top of this we love to explore and make use of our sensory garden and the outdoor areas. Once a week we also get chance to participate in cooking lessons, which is great fun! We like to try our finished products and learn all about eating healthily.

During lunchtimes, we eat in the hall and enjoy this time eating together. This is a time to develop our communication and social skills and share things that we have enjoyed so far in the day. This is also an opportunity to use our communication devices, or practice our verbal skills to ask for help, or support with self-care routines.  After we have eaten, we spend time outside and practice social skills such as sharing, and communicating with our peers.

Mint class is an inclusive environment, where we all support each other to achieve our highest potential.
