Welcome to Chive Class!  

Chive Class supports learners from Year 3 to Year 6, with a strong emphasis on play-based learning. Our approach includes a variety of sensory and exploratory activities—messy play is a regular feature, so we appreciate your understanding when clothes come home a little less than spotless! 

In addition to engaging with Selworthy curriculum, our daily routine is designed to help pupils work towards their individual EHCP and therapy targets. We focus on developing essential skills for learning, developing communication skills, and enhancing personal, social and emotional development.  

Our lessons follow a free-flow, child-led structure that allows learners to explore activities at their own pace. Each session also includes targeted one-to-one learning opportunities, where pupils work closely with an adult on specific tasks. 

To promote independence, autonomy, and emotional regulation, we make frequent use of our beautiful garden space, offering learners the chance to continue their learning outdoors. 

And above all, what truly brings us joy in Chive Class is music—it’s a highlight of our day and a favourite among our learners.
