We were delighted to welcome Somerset Larder into school for a fantastic Cheesecake Masterclass. Phil and his team of apprentices were brilliant, delivering an engaging and hands‑on session that our learners thoroughly enjoyed. The cheesecakes they produced were absolutely delicious and a real highlight of the day!

During the workshop, students explored the wide range of career opportunities within the catering and hospitality industry. They learned about the skills required, the different roles available, and what it’s like to work in a large‑scale catering company.

One of the apprentices, Harvey, gave an inspiring talk to Grove 1, sharing his personal journey into catering and hospitality. He spoke about the skills he has developed, the support he received during his training, and his aspirations for the future. His story provided learners with a real‑life example of how passion and dedication can lead to rewarding career pathways.
