🚲 On Your Bike Workshop 2: Saunton Class Gets Hands-On
Following the success of our first trike-building session, most of Saunton Class learners in Key Stage 4 took part in our second On Your Bike Workshop, once again led by Derek from On Your Bike Taunton. This time, the focus was on repairing and maintaining our school bikes at Hazelbrook.
The learners threw themselves into the challenge, showing great enthusiasm as they explored the practical side of bike maintenance. They learned how to check over the bikes carefully, make small adjustments and ensure everything was safe and ready to ride. One of the highlights was pumping up the tyres - a task that brought plenty of smiles - and then testing the bikes afterwards to see the results of their hard work.
The workshop gave Saunton Class a brilliant opportunity to build confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills, all while gaining valuable hands-on experience. Their pride in seeing the bikes back in action was clear and we are delighted with the effort and energy they brought to the session.
A huge thank you once again to Derek and On Your Bike Taunton for guiding our learners through another fantastic workshop. The skills gained will continue to benefit our school community, and we look forward to the next stage of this exciting project.
