Hands-On Learning & Inspiring Workshops
This year’s Futures Week featured a fantastic lineup of interactive sessions, designed to introduce learners to new skills, industries, and potential careers. Some of the highlights included:
- Cooking Workshop – Led by Kevin Smokecum, students developed essential culinary skills and gained insights into the food and hospitality industry.
- Into Film Workshop – Encouraging creativity, storytelling, and film-making skills.
- Stantec Workshop – A fascinating session exploring civil engineering, infrastructure planning, and environmental sustainability.
- Railway Workshop – A deep dive into railway engineering and logistics, offering insights into careers within transportation and infrastructure.
- Self-Love Hair & Beauty – Promoting self-care while introducing careers in the beauty and wellness industry.
- SASP (Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership) – Focusing on sports, fitness, and active lifestyles.
- Lush Experience – This unique workshop provided a multisensory experience, allowing students to engage with textures, scents, and sounds in a calming, immersive environment.
- National Trust Visit – A first-hand experience in conservation and heritage management.
- Wincanton Experience – Offering a behind-the-scenes look at logistics and supply chain careers.
